BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Claris E-Mailer to Text changes Claris E-Mailer files (it does not change any content of the file) to open up in the word processing program of your choice. For example when a file is double clicked on it will open in BBEdit instead of Claris E-Mailer. This application even has an undo in case you changed the wrong file (see NOTE under MORE DETAILS). Claris E-Mailer to Text can batch process folders or one file at a time. Claris E-Mailer to Text filters out all files that aren't Claris E-Mailer's, so you could just drop your hard drive on Claris E-Mailer To Text and only Claris E-Mailer's mail would be changed. Nothing else will be changed. Skip down to WHAT EACH APPLICATION DOES to find out the capabilities of each application.

Claris E-Mailer to Text changes the creator type of the text files in Claris E-Mailer's filing cabinet. It doesn't change any of the other files created by Claris E-Mailer, or any content of the files. By changing the file's creator type to your favorite text editor you will be able to double click on the file and have it automatically open up in the word processor instead of Claris E-Mailer. When batch processing Claris E-Mailer to Text targets only Claris E-Mailer In/Out text files. Simply drop the files you want to change on the application and it is converted.
Claris E-Mailer "In" format:
Has a green arrow and are the files you received.
Claris E-Mailer "Out" format:
Has a blue arrow and are the files you sent out.
A file's creator type:
Tells the computer which application made it (MS Word, ClarisWorks, etc.)
A file's file type:
Tells the computer what kind of file it is (text, picture, etc.)
NOTE: Because the information of whether a Claris E-Mailer In/Out file is stored in the file type, the icon of the word processor won't show up. If Claris E-Mailer to Text were to change the file type, Claris E-Mail Conversion Undo would not work.

This undos the changes made by Claris E-Mailer to Text 1.1, and also changes the file.
Use this only if you have saved the Claris E-Mailer file as text IN BBEdit, Tex-Edit, Microsoft Word, ClarisWorks, or you want to change regular text files like Simpletext to a Claris E-Mailer In file format. If you save a Claris E-Mailer file as text in one of these programs the information of whether it was an In or Out file will be lost. When this information is lost it is saved as a Claris E-Mailer In format. Because the information of whether it is an In or Out file is stored in the file type the icon of the word processor won't show up.
